I Gave My Son For You

You hang on a wooden cross Pouring out your love for all the world Hopeless ? No helping ? Yes. You are helping us through each moment of our lives.

Hopeless? No

Violent was the pain Torn was the body As He hung in compassion on the cross for us Sent by His Father on a mission of love No one understood the meaning of His sacrifice Only the steadfast few remained that bleak and terrible day when the physical heart of Christ stopped beating and the Temple veil was rent asunder Such was the necessary path to upturn evil from its self-made throne

Mary weeping at the Cross may your tears heal the Earth may your tears touch our hearts may your tears cleanse our soul may your grief heal our grief may your grief  touch our emptiness may your grief speak for us may your love heal our fear may your love touch our pain may your love bless our lives may your hope heal our hearts may your hope touch our souls may your hope guide us on                                to your Son

Heart of Love Dying for the world Reaching out to save All I can do is stand by you an onlooker on the sport of death All I can give I do My heart in all its simplicity lies with yours All I can hope is that it is some small speck of comfort some speck of light in the gathering darkness which obscures the True reality of Your Glory You are not alone We hold you in our tears We stay with you beyond the end hoping, praying, waiting for the New beginning.

It is perhaps too easy to think of the sheer weight of pain and grief weighting you down upon the cross until you died But no - I think you chose death. You took it in upon itself You absorbed it You went into it so completely that it could not possibly hold you No - because you held it and all of us and willed us into Life.

early in the morning silent moment of absolute power explosion of light shook the tomb wherein you lay Dead then Alive So hard to even begin to understand Love given out to the very last drop of your existence returned in splendour essence of life returned from its journey made manifest once more in the world bringing us out of utter darkness into pure radiance of Light No wonder the stone was rolled away with the immanence of God in that moment come back into the world to reunite us forever with Love.
