Contemplation upon the Litany of

The Eucharist

As  a prelude to Pentecost, we contemplate the  Litany of the Eucharist.

We can pray this Litany in order to feel more fully the wonder of God with us in the Eucharist. For Christ is truly present and has come to live in us. We have opened up our hearts, our minds, our bodies to be a temple for His love.We can use this prayer to help us connect more consciously with Him as a part of our own conscious path of Holy Way, with Him. Living the Holy Way is a choice. Returning and returning to ‘God with us’, is the way to be safe and to be saved.

The Eucharist is the Christ, purely and simply, His presence with us. It is a mystery of faith, yet the truth can be felt in the presence experienced, when receiving this most holy and precious communion. It is beauty, grace, awesome, tender, vast, blessed, pure, radiant spirit filled essence of love, touching your whole being and lifting you forever into the oneness of the mighty Trinity, so that there is no separation possible between yourself and God, for you are infinitely and intimately bound by love.

Even if you only receive the Eucharist once, this truth cannot be undone, for nothing can separate us from the Love of God, humbly given, in the simplicity and divine mystery of the Eucharist: God utterly with us for evermore.

Not every one has the blessing of receiving this gift. Yet, if you have received this blessing, the strength, the love, the tenderness, the mercy and the power are with you always and freely accessible should you seek it.

Contemplations:

Oh Holy Eucharist Divine

Live in us

The Holy Eucharist is, incredibly, Christ himself, come to be with us, in a mysterious and indescribably Sacred way. Approaching the Eucharist, you can feel the holiness of His presence. You can know with certainty that He is with you and come to be with you in a most Holy and intimate way, for it is His most precious gift and promise to us.

A most pure and unique bond of love that unites us, not only with God in heaven, but also with each other, in a most powerful relationship of pure love. For this, we will eternally raise our heart’s in gratitude beyond words. Amen

Oh Holy Eucharist, Light of life

Live in us

Jesus himself tells us that He is the Light of Life ( John 8:12) and that as long as we have Him we will not be walking in darkness. This is a powerful, exquisite, perfect light, a light that cannot be extinguished; a light that radiates most powerfully from the Eucharist itself, bringing all goodness, all hope, all truth, all mercy to each and every one of us. Shining for us, shining within us, radiating from us as we enter into the Holy mystery of the Eucharist.

Oh Holy Eucharist, the Light of man

Live in us

Jesus Christ is the Light of Life and that light is the life of man. He is our life, shining in us in a radiant, indescribably beautiful way. His essence is with us and in us and that essence is Light! This truth is revealed to us in John 1, where he says so beautifully and simply, that in Him was life and that life was the Light of man. This is such  a profound statement of Truth, the knowing of which should fill us with incredible reverence, awe and joy: His life is the Light of man, He is our light. He is our life and this is experienced and fulfilled in the incredible gift of the Living Eucharist which we are blessed to receive, so that He truly lives within us and that we can be fully alive in Him! Praise God indeed.

Oh Holy Eucharist, Bread of Heaven

Live in us

Jesus Christ is the Eucharist. What an incredible gift to us! His living presence is within and without. The immensity of this knowledge is vast and awesome! When we receive Communion, we actually receive Him into our being in an incredible, sacred and mystical way. Take a moment to think about this. No, take a lifetime! It is incredible. He is the Holy bread of Heaven, the spiritual blessing sustaining us, igniting us, enlivening us, restoring us, healing us, guiding us, living in us and connecting us to Heaven. There are no words big enough to contain this understanding!

Oh Holy Eucharist, Living Christ

Live in us

Christ says ‘I am.’ This is the ever living one. This is how He can be present to us in the Eucharist. He is the ‘was’, ‘now’ and ‘ever shall be’ of the Glory Be. He is the ever living God who is with us and in us and evermore shall be, for that is His promise and that is His Truth: life evermore. Amen

Oh Holy Eucharist, Son of God

Live in us

It is through Divine Revelation and the Experience of Your Living presence, that we come to know more fully  the Truth, that You are the Living Son of God. The Sacred intimate acceptance of Your Being, in the Holy Bread of Communion, touches us deeply, converts us truly, blesses us abundantly, reveals You to us. For this we give eternal thanks and praise! For Your life in us changes all…..

Oh Holy Eucharist, Absolute Truth

Live in us

We need the Absolute Truth of Your Love to ground us and keep us safe in the World. We are therefore mightily blessed that You come to us and stay with us, in the simplicity of bread and wine. As we come to feel and know You, we are exposed to the Truth that informs our conscience and leads us toward a better more congruent life of genuineness and love. The Truth inspires us to be True to Your teachings, to be humble, to be bold, to bear all suffering and to be a light for others. Untruth and incongruence become unacceptable and lead us always toward greater service, greater ability to love and to reflect on the meaning of Love, that we might honour Your Presence in us.

Oh Holy Eucharist, Most Holy Communion

Live in us

We give thanks that in entering into the most Holy Communion with You Lord, we are embraced by You and that You help us then to reach out and embrace others, not just those we know and love, but those more challenging, more needy, less comfortable to love. We are challenged to forgive, to find Mercy in our hearts, to struggle to find the way to engage with others. For communion means just that. It is an embracing relationship that has no boundary to love.

Oh Holy Eucharist, Infinite Mercy

Live in us

Mercy is all. Mercy heals all. Mercy is pure Love. It flows from the Heart of Love and is seen most radically upon the Cross of Our Lord. His Heart, broken open by the Spear, symbolises love reaching out beyond time and space, beyond death. Jesus is the embodiment of all Mercy, holding us and saving us, forgiving us and freeing us for life eternal, in oneness with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We give thanks then, that even as broken as Jesus was, in intense agony unto death, yet still He loved us and was Mercy for us all for evermore, the Power of which enabled Him to pick up His life once more at the incredible moment of the Resurrection. For love returns to love more powerfully than it is given out and a life that serves, that loves in utter totality and oneness with the Father and the Spirit, cannot but be saved! Thus Mercy was released into all time and we were all given a path of healing and forgiveness in our own life time. Praise God indeed! All we need do is open our hearts to receive the blessing of Mercy!

Oh Holy Eucharist, Truly Beloved

Live in us

For the Son was truly beloved of the Father and was never lost, never not loved, never forgotten, never uncared for, despite the punishing agony of the Cross and the seeming abandonment. Jesus knew the father loved Him and was with Him through it all, even when the suffering was so great that  he cried out to Him why had he forsaken him, such was the overwhelming desolation of the pain upon the cross. Yet He had lived a life of prayer and connectedness to the Father. Only One who has known such love and relationship, can give such love. Thus we can be certain that even when we suffer, even when we are in agony, we are beloved as He was beloved, for He wanted us to be with Him and He held us all on the Cross as He was dying and willing us all to be with Him always: that was the gift of love given to Him by the Father.  That is the love felt in the Eucharist. The unbreakable bond of love.

Oh Holy Eucharist, the Light of the World,

Live in us

Jesus Christ himself tells us that He is the Light of the World

How can we live without light? We all need light for life. Life is not possible with out the light and Jesus knows this. He is the Light. He is life itself and He has come to shine that light in the world that we may all be drawn to him and receive His sustenance, for the Light comforts, the Light restores, the Light illuminates, the Light heals, the Light blesses and enables growth. The Light shines radiant and true for all to see. And reveals in that Light that Jesus is the Son of God, come to reunite us with Love itself, Father, Son, Holy Spirit. When Jesus tells us that He is the Light of the World, when we see and know this to be true it sets a sparks inside our hearts on fire. Our own small light responds.

In Him there is no darkness. In Him we can know that all He does and all He says is true. For Light cannot lie. It only illuminates and reveals and what it reveals to us is the Word of God, made manifest in the world and that Word shines brightly in our hearts and sings sweetly upon our lips. The light in Christ blesses, transfigured, shines, heals, brings goodness and purity, hope and love. And the feeling it brings is joy,  upliftment, trust, happiness, is all that is beautiful and true.

And so we give thanks for the Light of The World that blesses us and shows us the true path to follow, lit by God Himself, who is all goodness and whose light is so pure that it can be recognised and seen, especially in the darkest of places!

Oh Holy Eucharist, Grace from on High

Live in us

Jesus Christ whose presence is in the living Holy Eucharist is surely an incredible grace from on High, a sacred mystery that can only come from God. And resounds in our hearts and is love incarnate, here with us. There are no words to encompass this Truth! All we can do is give thanks and praise for this miracle.

Oh Holy Eucharist, Son of Man

Live in us

Jesus Christ is the Son of Man. He is born into humanity, yet He transcends Time and Space. He has authority over all the Earth, gifted by His Father in Heaven. He therefore has the Power to heal and the authority to forgive. Miracles then become possible. All is possible with the Son of Man, who exists both in Time and Space and  beyond Time and Space. PRAISE GOD INDEED!

Oh Holy Eucharist, Hope of all the Earth

Live in us

Whilst God is in the World, His living presence here with us, there must always be hope for all the Earth; hope of healing, hope of light, hope of truth, hope of safe passage, hope of miracles, hope of blessings, hope of life after death. What incredible Hope He brings!

Oh Holy Eucharist, Prince of Peace

Live in us

Jesus’  Peace is a Peace not of the world. This was His promise, that He gave us His Peace, His gift to us who remain in the world. For the World knows not this Peace, It is chaotic and difficult to live in. But Christ’s Peace is greater still and is possible to find even in the depth of suffering snd unimaginable pain. Truly, when we receive Christ in the Holy Eucharist, His Peace is upon us and will see us through every suffering we ever experience. Let us only turn to Him and remember His gift of Peace.

Oh Holy Eucharist, Lamb of God,

Live in us

The Lamb of God knows suffering intimately. He has known Life and Death, Resurrection and Ascension. He brings deep knowing of our situations that we struggle with. He is Love and Mercy, forever more.

He brings hope and renewal, help with forgiveness, new life to the hopeless and the hurting. He tenderly holds us, for He knows our pain and He carries His wounds for all time, come to bring healing to us all.

Oh Holy Eucharist, the precious Word Incarnate

Live in us

The Word of God, when spoken, brings knowledge, resounds truly in the Heart, brings joy and gladness to bear, even in the most unexpected and forsaken places. The Word of God is Jesus Christ. His message helps us always. His Word is always true. In accepting the Eucharist, we receive that Word into our whole being, where its truth can grow and guide us always on a safe path, if we follow it!

Oh Holy Eucharist may we receive you in humility

Let us be truly humble in our approach and reverence to the most Holy Eucharist, for who could not be humbled by the living Presence of all that is, yet who has come to be with us in simple fare, that we may be one with Him?

Oh Holy Eucharist may we carry you in our hearts

May we be open to receive in absolute fullness, the truth of the Holy Eucharist, that we might wholly recognise the divine presence who has come to live with us and be in us. And carry that joy, truth, blessing in our hearts in every moment, aware of this incredibly sacred gift that makes of our hearts and bodies, a temple for the Lord.

Oh Holy Eucharist may we be filled with your light

In receiving Christ into ourselves may we be filled with His radiant Light, the Light of the whole World and may we be like the Lamp Stand, burning bright for all to see His Light within us, radiating out to touch the World.

Oh Holy Eucharist may we serve as you serve

In receiving the Eucharist within our being, may we be inspired and determined to serve as you serve Lord, using all in our power to grow in love and genuineness, reaching out to others in need, not only those easy to help, but those who challenge us and enable us to grow in love.

Oh Holy Eucharist may we live with you in Oneness and wonder all the days of our lives

As we embrace you Lord, in the sweetness of Communion, may we be filled with the Joy, the love, the wonder of knowing you, more and more deeply and being more inspired to live the congruent life, demanded of us, through that knowledge which you bring us, of what Love and service truly mean.

Oh Holy Eucharist teach us your Truth

For You are Truth itself and the Light in you reveals that Truth to all who choose to see and hear it. May we hear you, graciously hear you! May we see You, graciously see You! May the Truth ring out in our hearts and so inspire us to live a life that reflects Your Truth. May we always speak Your Truth upon our lips. Grant us the Wisdom and the Knowledge to discern Your Truth and live life, in Your Way, enlivened by Your most Holy Presence in our lives!

Oh Holy Eucharist lead us to Heaven

And at the end of days may You lead us toward You, that we might fully reside in a state of Grace with You and be embraced in the totality of Love, with You, in Heaven. Yet until that time, may we touch Heaven in transcendent moments and feel the energy of love blessing our lives, helping us to transform our lives so that we continue to walk the Path of Love that You guide us on, by Your living Presence.

Oh Holy Eucharist live in us now and forever

Oh Lord, You have promised to be with us always. Your Presence in the Eucharist ensures this Truth. If we only but receive You once, that once is enough for ever. We give thanks for the Oneness and the true life You bring to us. We are nothing without You. Amen
